Siquijor is the ‚Island of Fire‘
Siquijor has a circumference of around 75 kilometres and a relatively small population of about 100,000, which means there is pleasantly little traffic. The main road, which circles almost the entire island, is well paved, making it very easy and safe to get around by motorbike or scooter. There are also exciting mountains and great topography, but you should already be able to ride a bit, as the fantastic landscape is not particularly suitable for beginners.

Away from this ring road, the roads are often narrower and some are still unpaved. Although tourism is growing, it is still developing at a relaxed pace, and the island retains its quiet charm away from mass tourism. The island’s capital is Siquijor with around 29,000 inhabitants, Lazi has just under 23,000 inhabitants, San Juan, the “party city”, has around 17,000 inhabitants, and Maria and Larena each have around 15,000 inhabitants. There are also still some people living in the countryside, some of them in beautiful landscapes. Traffic is busy in all of the cities mentioned, but it is nothing compared to Manila or Cebu.
